About Pushback, Claim Your Voice

Sheilagh, a rebellious teen with a chip the size of a Volkswagen on her shoulders, believes that violence and anger will solve all her friendship problems. Her temper alienates the school beauty, its football hero and even the only boy she truly likes.

Both Sheilagh and her fictional creation, Titshia, must deal with people who devalue them and underestimate their abilities. Both chafe under the bullying dealt to anyone who cannot hide their difference. How will they push back against these forces to claim their own voices?

Aaron Kreuter is a novelist, poet, and academic. Aaron is currently an assistant professor of English Literature at Trent University.
